I had periodontal disease, and had it treated recently, unfortunately before this treatment started, I loss one of my front teeth. After the surgery and treatment, and/or cure of my gum disease, the gaps between my teeth remain, and my gums are still "pulled-back" from my teeth. Help!!!

Unfortunately you may have gotten the wrong information, Gum Disease is incurable. Once someone has Gum Disease they can only treat it but never cure it! Since you are still having the effects of Gum Disease I suggest you schedule an appointment quickly with a dentist (it’s not worth waiting at the cost of losing your teeth). Also it is good to note that home care is extremely important for treating Gum Disease, not just brushing but also flossing as well.

Periodontal Disease can be very sly. It seems the behavior of the disease becomes less and less noticeable as far as discomfort the longer you have the disease… however there are some warning signs that may appear..
- Do your gums bleed when you brush your teeth and/or eat hard or rough foods?
- Are your gums red, swollen or tender? Do you have sores in your mouth?
- Are your gums receding? Have they pulled back from your teeth?
- Do your teeth appear longer?
- Are spaces developing between your teeth?
- Do you have bad breath that you can't get rid of?
- Does pus ever appear between your teeth and gums?
- Are any of your teeth loose?
- Has there been a change in the way your teeth fit together when you bite?
- If you have partial dentures, has their fit changed?
